要旨

The escalated hazards caused by yellow dust, associated with environmental degradation in northern part of China, have attracted increasing attention in recent years. Dust has various direct impact on environment and human society: Dust storms have killed hundreds of people in the recent decade; The suspended particulates is harmful to the human respiratory system. On the other hand, dust neutralizes the acidity of the rainfall in East Asia. To evaluate this complex phenomenon, the series of dust events, such as dust emission, transportation, deposition and impact, should be understood comprehensively. This study takes the wind erosion in North China, dust and pollutants transportation to proximal regions, and the health effect of air condition in Korea, as the typical examples. Each result strongly suggests the anthropogenic activities enhance the damage on humans due to yellow dust.
